Here’s an excerpt from an email I (Julie) sent a friend while Rob and I were dating. It’s a killer memory and I’m SO glad I kept these! I love journals…

…So. That leaves us to this past weekend. Remember we were going to St.George?
Well. Here it goes. We had a WONDERFUL time!!! Honestly, I can't think of ONE thing
that would have made it any better. Literally.
So we're driving down and we're about 3 blocks away from getting to his grandparent’s
house. It's 11pm. All of a sudden,he pulls to the side of the road and stops.
I'm like, "Uh, what are ya doing?" He says, "Well, I wasn't going to do this now,
and I REALLY didn't want to do it in the car....but I wanted to tell you that I'm
falling in love with you."
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you imagine myself? So here's my romantic response (you're gonna love this)
I say, "You do, huh? Hmmm. Well, that's good to know." Then I pause for dramatic
effect and to make him sweat a little. "That's good to know because I'm falling
in love with you too (here's the romantic part)...I'm falling in love with you too
and it would really suck if it wasn't both ways 'cause that would be no fun."
Can you believe those words came out of my mouth???!!!! Talk about a blithering idiot.
So there you go. It's official, we're falling in love.
The rest of the weekend was just as good. We visited with his grandparents,
hiked Angel's Landing in Zion's, went swimming, out to dinner, rented a movie,
and cuddled. Driving home we also talked about important future things and he
wants us to take a Marriage Prep class in January. As of now, plans are for us
to have a Spring wedding. I wouldn't be surprised if it was pushed up, though.
So. There you go.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Julie. this sounds a little bit like the talk your Grandfather and I had a few days after we
met. We were on a long drive to one of his jobs to do a bidding. On the way home he talked forever and finally pulled over to the side of the road. I asked him what he is doing and he didn't realize he had pulled over. He was still talking. It was that time that we both knew we would be together forever, and we were.
P.S. To be more sentimental, I have a letter from you when you were about 12 years old. Grandfather kept it all these years. I didn't know till I cleaned out one of his messy drawers. Question is, do you want me to send it back to you? Love, Grandma.
That is the cutest! We have the best memories! Can't believe you held on to those emails all these years. Miss you! ):
