Overnighter at the Reef

We were having such beautiful springlike weather in the depths of wintertime and wanted to enjoy it while it held up.  After looking at our calendar and realizing we didn’t have a whole weekend to spare we decided on just doing a quick overnighter.

Right after the kids got out of school on a Friday we drove 3 hours south to Torrey. We stayed at The Broken Spur Inn. There aren’t a lot of options in Torrey but this is a good one. We had a pizza dinner and looked for constellations under the big open sky.

The next morning we were all so excited to be driving into Capitol Reef National Park with beautiful blue skies and red rocks all around.

The Fremont River was too deep and fast to play in so we played in Sulphur Creek.
