A few weeks ago I posted on a little outing up American Fork Canyon and promised a follow up regarding the rest of the outing at Silver Lake. Silver Lake, Timble Fork, and Granite Flats are some of the most beautiful alpine areas around and a sure way to have a good time. I recommend them to all. See a map here. The road up to the lake is passable with a typical two-wheel drive vehicle during dry conditions. I’d stear clear of the road in wet conditions unless you have four-wheel drive.
After making our way up the road we played in the water for some time. Check out the photos below. Who doesn’t like animated gifs?

What a joy it is to play with the kids and enjoy soaking in the sun and feeling the cool lake air on your skin. Good times. Watching the kids play in Nature without any toys, movies, or any other sources of distraction is a treasure for them and for us. This is something both Julie and I want to encourage as much as possible.
