On a Mission in SJC

Before we started our drive back to Las Vegas we decided to do a little touring of the nearby Mission San Juan Capistrano. What a lovely place to visit!

The kids loved running around and exploring.

Rob and I both enjoyed taking photographs here.

Nate and Madeleine loved learning about some of the small animal pelts and skulls that were on display. They also adored the tiny basket handmade from horse hair. It wasn’t initially for sale, but Rob’s dad convinced the artisan to sell it to him for a sum.

We stepped inside the very beautiful and reverent chapel and let the kids light a candle.

We all loved the calming feeling that comes with being in a beautiful place.

Afterward we walked to El Adobe de Capistrano for a really large and very good Mexican lunch. I may have had the best Pina Colada I’ve every had, even outscoring the ones in Mexico. It was a really cool and historic building and we loved eating there.

Then we all packed in the car and headed back to Las Vegas. We had such a good time this entire trip. We are so grateful that we got to spend this time with Bob and Gail and can’t wait until next time!
