Are we moving??????

So on Monday morning our plan was to move to the Santa Fe Apartments in Sandy in a couple of months, soon after the end of the semester. It was a good plan that would have served us well. Anyway, our friend Becca works up at residential living at the U of U. Our other friend Shannon worked there in the past as well. Anyway, we have called both of them in the past asking about the price to live up there and have always gasped is horror at the price. So we decided to ask again knowing that our costs have gone up and it that it might be economical at this time. So we got on messenger to contact Becca and made a lunch appointment that afternoon. That next morning we paid our security deposit and made a plan to move in a week later during spring break! Crazy world!! It is funny how quickly our plans can change.

We had some really good help this weekend getting packed. My parents came over twice on Saturday and took care of Nate for like 4 hours at a time which allowed us to get almost all the packing done. We are really grateful for their help.

Today was our last day in the Ensign 2nd Ward. It was a really nice day. One of the hard things about leaving a ward is that everybody wants to say that you did a fantastic job and I don’t like to be recongized publicly. It is really weird for me for some reason. I love it when Julie sings me praises but it is weird for other people to do it.

But I guess the important thing is that we really learned a lot in this ward from the people and the opportunities that we had to serve. We really learned a lot while living in this apartment. We had our first child here. What a change! So leaving here is very positive but also strangely disappointing. Julie feels it more than I do but I know where she is coming from.

The next time we blog it will be from our new apartment. How exciting!!

  1. Well you guys are going to love all then new friends you are going to make! Shoreline has so many people your age and som many fun activities! I think you guys will love it!

  2. It’s kind of sad to leave a place that’s been home for so long. It’s a bitter sweet part of life… you can look back at the good times and the things you’ve learned with fondness, but you can’t go back- that’s the sad part. I guess it’s all part of living, learning, and growing. It’s going to be great to have you so close. I mean you were close before, but now you guys can drop in for lunch so easily!! I wish you the best in your new apartment and your new ward. See you soon! (I’ll be there to help move Tuesday night, if that’s still on)-Beck
